I'm anti repro but I find it hard to be super passionate about it. There have been near perfect weapon repros for years. At least now, with Hasbro making their own, maybe some of the eBay sellers will get taken down on copyright grounds.

Being more focused on carded collecting now, I understand that it isn't impacting me as much as it once did, but there are plenty of reputable sources out there if you're trying to put together a loose run.

I don't think its as big of a deal as some make it out to be, how it can get much worse than it already is? Once someone has gone to the trouble of getting a production run in order, it's probably cheap enough to produce more than the collecting market can even absorb. There is probably more repro Leia blasters out there right now than there are collectors looking to complete their loose run.

I have been burned in the past, but i'm not against repro, there are collectors out there on a budget, and these fakes can fill a hole in there collections, as long as they don't try and pass on a fake as an original, I say live and let live.

Early on in my collecting I was ripped off so many times by people unknowingly selling me repro that I'm absolutely against them. I have Toy Tonis, fake Pablo Model Trems and countless repro accessories. Obviously education is everything but it's easier said than done for new collectors.

This is an awesome article by Ian C on the topic:

Interestingly this conversation has escalated quite a bit. For those not paying attention on FaceBook, the most extreme "Pro Repro" supporters from SmithLord's FB group started another one for only the most extreme "Pro Repro" zealots. This newer group is called "Mutiny on the Bounty Star Wars Anti Elitist Group"  rofl and the mods make a habit of directly naming well-established collectors (like those running the Imperial Gunnery) and encouraging their followers to hassle these people. That and they are generally supporting repro producers and acting as third party distributors. Wild stuff.
