Limited Space Collections Empty Limited Space Collections

Post by Stuart Skinner Fri May 01, 2020 6:33 pm

On this months 'Those Old Fossils' vintage roundtable podcast by Generation Skywalker, we discussed collecting and having limited space to display these collections. In UK and Europe in particular space is very limited for many. So how do you display your collections if that is that case? Have you used imagination? made creative ways of using alcoves? How do you display say paperwork for example? Badges? Stationary? Loose runs? Do you purely have a single shelf for your collection? Whatever it is we want to see it, we want to celebrate it, the more innovative the better. We'll be returning to this topic next month and want to see as many collection displays as possible in that time.

And for one lucky participant chosen randomly, a totally unique prize, so just by showing us you will automatically be entered into the draw for the surprise item.

Get those cameras out and snap away and share!!!

A few bits that I have out at the moment. My camera battery needed charging, so I'll add some pictures of the other end of my office later.

Beautiful mate, the high shelf is a great call. Do you have plans for the rest of the room?

I have to finish the wainscotting around the walls.  It will look like the end of the room with my desk.  The room is only 8'-10 x 18'-3" (2.69m x 5.56m)

Because of the bulkhead around the top of the room that hides the ducting and has the pot light built in.  I have to pick some shorter cabinets that will fit under the bulkhead.  I've already found some Ikea cabinets that will work perfectly.  I'll put some posters and stuff up on the walls around the room.  I'm also contemplating putting my Canadian card back collection up as well.

Because I'm a designer, I already know what the room will look like when it's done.

That is brilliant, love the fact that you know exactly how you want it to look as well.

Thanks guys. Most of the MOC's are under $50. Crushed bubbles, cut bubbles, etc.... They still display nice.
