OK.... this just rocks!
Its about $8, but worth it I think.
DSLR Controller

If you have a compatible camera and an OTG cable for your Android tablet or phone, you can use the phone/tablet to take your shots! (cable costs $5 - $10 if you don't have one already).

The biggest benefit I see is you don't ever have to touch your camera. It can stay in place and you just need to swap figures (subject) out - plus have a much larger screen to look at. Smile
You can modify all your camera's settings on the Android device and never touch the camera again! Smile

A bigger screen helps see things better plus less clicking and fiddling with the camera's menus and options which can make a mess of the position of the camera and focus.

Just a cool tool for under $15 all said and done.

It works with a shit tonne of cameras and worth looking into if you take a lot of photos and use a tripod. It isn't compatible with everything, so if you are interested, check first.

I'll do some comparison shots and more info once I get some nice weather.

cheers!

Just another FYI about this app...

If you have a compatible DSLR, there is one feature that it adds that my Canon 1200D does not have at all (it adds this to any compatible camera from what I can tell).

It adds a one step increment/decrement focus adjustment.

So, you can auto-focus to get in to the best the AF can, then use can step the motor in the lens one step at a time to find the best focal point.
For me, it is fantastic since the AF always seems one step or maybe two off depending on the subject.
Using the app's zoom feature to see the area you want to see in focus better plus this, just simply rocks!
The better your stepper motor is inside the lens, the better this feature works of course. (like a Canon USM)

Anyway........ I am using the app full time just for this and the fact I don't have to touch the camera any more so it never gets nudged away when I am shooting.

cheers!

DISCLAIMER: I do not have any stake in this app! I just like it. Smile
