The mould used for this Luke is the same one that was used in Mexico by Lili Ledy. Production of this figure for the U.S. market was brief before the mould was shipped to Mexico. It's possible it's Kenner release was limited to the 65A card only.

The earliest painted face Taiwan Luke Jedi figure could also be found packed on the 65A with the snap cape.
The figure can also be found with a minor eye colour variation, reddish brown print and a much darker brown print, comparison shown below.
