Star Wars New Year's Eve
I mentioned this in another thread. We were looking for some (free) family fun on New Year's, and came across an ad for a SW NYE celebration in Kitchener, Ontario , very damn close to where Clint lives. It was being held in their City Hall, and had multiple SW characters in costume, an area with a couple of dozen vintage 80's arcade games, a live concert before midnight, kid's crafts, and a full blown toy show with 20-30 vendors.
My oldest, who is almost 14, complained almost the entire time, but my younger son, 7, was ecstatic about this (unlike me, he loved TFA, and is obsessed with SW at the moment). I even got my 5 year old daughter into it, although she was too shy for most pics.
Enjoy.

I was SO close to asking this guy if he wasn't a little short for a Stormtrooper, lol.

Unfortunately, it seems Boba Fett is heading back to college. He traded in his jet pack for a backpack. Yes, he was wearing it all night. wtf?

I recognize the costume, but don't follow EU, so not sure at all who this guy is. Darth Bane?

The Dark Lord of the Sith doesn't look so imposing when he's standing in front of a 4 foot tall Connect 4 game....

Easily the highlight of the night for my son. He got to meet his new hero.

Am I trolling now? Even Hayden-style Anakin was in town.

This must be a ghost trooper. The cold, mixed with the dark surroundings, seemed to make a few pictures come out with an ethereal look. This one is probably the most obvious case.

This R2 was amazing. Full sound and motion. The Jawa, however, needs to see an optometrist for that lazy eye.....

Meh, I guess I had to have a picture with the stupid beach ball.

Figures, the only picture my daughter would pose for included the damn beach ball.

This was kinda cool. As we got to midnight, the band played the SW and Imperial themes as characters came on stage. Hell, even the bass player looked like a stunt double for Qui-Gon Jinn. Not sure if that shows through here, but his hair was exactly like Jinn's, and the guy had the height and nose of Liam Neeson too. Fitting for the night's theme...

Most of the Imperials got on stage for this.

Final pic. Vader just pointed at the crowd as we hit midnight.

Hope you liked the pics. We had some pretty tired kids, but they all managed to stay up until the countdown, and only my daughter fell asleep on the hour long ride home.
Happy New Year everyone!

Great pictures. Looks like you had a great time.
I went last year, but wasn't able to go this year. It looks like it got bigger and better this year.
How were the vendors this year? Did they have some nice vintage SW stuff this year?

Cool pictures Ian, I'm glad that you all had a great time. Looking at his wonky eyes, the Jawa seems a little worse for wear.
