TOP 5 - Part I - Favourite Variants, What & Why?

We all have our collection loves, but I think one that we all share a common ground on is variants! So I'm guessing that you all have your favourites, so feel free to post your top 5 here and let us know why they have a special place in your collecting heart Very Happy  Here are 5 of my favourites off the top of my head

# 1 - Boba Fett - PBP (Tri-Logo)

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

I've always loved this variant, I love the light coloured plastic which is then heavily contrasted by the dark paint scheme. I just think it looks great and works well. It's also great that there are multiple variations of this PBP figure so you can justify owning lots of them Very Happy

# 2 - Luke Bespin - PBP Dark Boots

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

I guess it was inevitable that a Luke Bespin would make my list, in this case it's the Dark Boots variation, I'll never forget the first time I saw this figure, just thought whoa!!! Those are really dark! It just look awesome to me, a classic must have variation!

# 3 - Han Hoth - Kenner Moulded Legs

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

I understand the most likely reason why this was changed to the painted legs, having tan moulded legs meant that there had to be two separate limb moulds, where as having the blue legs meant that just the on mould was required for the arms and legs. It's just a shame because I think the moulded legs look fantastic and the detail is so much clearer.

# 4 - Han Bespin - Lili Ledy Dark Legs

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

Han has always been my favourite character from the movies and Han Bespin was one of my favourite figures as a child. I love the Lili Ledy version because of the dark brown trousers, I just think they looks way cooler than the standard brown Kenner versions.

# 5 - Luke Jedi - Kenner Moulded Face

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

Han Hoth I can understand why the moulded legs where changed, I can also understand why some of the other mould/paint variations where changed, but with Luke Jedi I really can't the moulded face version looks way better and works way better too. All the others with the painted face are subject to the annoying nose rub, this one isn't and hardly ever suffers from hair rubs either because of the robust glossy paint. Such a shame this was not the way of all the Luke Jedi's.

# 4 - Squidhead - Lily Ledy version with the burgundy cape

I don't care what anyone thinks this version is super cool looking . When I first got mine I would stare at it for hours thinking to myself , "All Squids should've come like this" ...

my top five favourites are:

#1 - Glasslite Vader
[400]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

Vader is one of my favourite characters, hence the side focus. My favourite Vader variant has to be Glasslite vader vader
everything about this figure is badass, the harder, glossy sculpt, the unique buckle, the funky saber, with its flecks of yellow and black.
But for me it is the head that marks him out above the rest.
The sculpt is more film accurate in my opinion, it's a slightly broader head with a high gloss and hard sculpt.

#2 - PBP light green Wally

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

I just love the uniquely distinctive mint green colour and more vibrant jumpsuit on this cool variant

#3 - PBP dark brown rebel Soldier

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]
really like the darker paint on this popular variant, it just looks cooler than the others. Plus you can't beat that distinctive PBP smell  bong2

#4 - PBP fat Lips Bossk

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

I love the overkill with red lipstick on this variant, combined with the more detailed, sharper sculpt of the scales.

#5 - joint place, Lili Ledy Burgundy cape Squidhead / Bib Fortuna

[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]

not so much a favourite figure variant, but more a favourite accessory variation.
Unfortunately I do not own these variants yet ( and may never, with the way prices are going)
But I just love these Ledy variants. It's all about that super cool cape, both colour and texture afro

I just wish I was allowed to enter the comp to win the burgundy cape Squid Sad cheeky

Here's my top 10 :-) That I sadly no longer have :-(

The explanation is kind of the same for all of them - i just like that they stand out and look unusual!

10) Han Solo White molded legs - it's a hard one to spot but kind of cool that the figure has white molded legs.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
9) Dark Green Lili Ledy Yoda - love the bright green colour
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
8 ) Burgundy Coat Lili Ledy Squid Head - probably the most iconic Lili ledy variant in my opinion
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
7) Glasslite C3PO - dull rusty gold that makes him almost look like a bootleg
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
6) Dark Brown Rebel Soldier - almost chocolate in colour and really contrasts with the limbs
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
5) Orange Hair Luke Skywalker - what were they thinking to paint his hair orange :-)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
4) Glasslite R2D2 - The only major POTF variant. Love the matte silver dome and red eye
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
3) Leia Bespin Gold Neck - spent a long time and quite a bit of money tracking down a nice example
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
2) Bright green limbs POCH Bossk - Pretty damn rare - His limbs are so bight they look radioactive
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
1) Takara Stormtrooper - totally cool with a screw in the back and you can take them apart!!!!
