This website...
I've been collecting Star Wars toys since about 12 years (more or less serioulsy depending of different times in my life, and not counting me being a kid and going crazy with the POTF2 series that were in stores back then when I was arounf 8/9/10 years old) and I've never bothered joining a Star Wars related website until the begining of this year when I joined RS and Tantive, also I don't have a facebook so I'm out of all these groups and pages there... but even after a short time being a member here, Tantive has got to be the website with the most friendly, polite and passionate people. I've also been dealing with some personal and health sh*t the past few months and this place is a breathe of fresh air compared to all the bullshit you can find online (:

Nicolas, Thanks for your kind words. We try and make it relaxed and fun, but with a touch of serious thrown into the mix.
btw, If there is anything you would like to talk about, just send any of the mods a PM.
And so you and the rest of our members know, I personally suffer from Crohns and have been through a lot of surgeries and a tonne of recovery.

Re: This website...
That is lovely of you to say Nicolas! We are honoured to have you and you have been an extremely positive contributor to the forum. Keep it up!
I hope your health is okay now. A few of us on the Tantive XI mod team also have been dealing with serious health and personal issues so we can definitely empathise with you. For me personally, these past three years have been the worst in my life but as much as I complain about other collectors, it is this community that has kept me sane...

I'm sorry to hear about your health issues Nicolas, but I'm delighted that you find that TXI 'has got to be the website with the most friendly, polite and passionate people'. With more members like yourself, we can only go from strength to strength.

Re: This website...
Hey Nicolas, you're in good company here. Like others, I'm going through a bit of a health crisis right now too (spinal stenosis confirmed, AS looking more and more probable ), and as it has cost me almost 2 years of work, I have to start selling my beloved collection to help make ends meet. RS used to be the place to be, but most of the old guard has left/posts infrequently, and much of the newer members are not exactly fitting replacements (broad generalization - some guys there are still awesome). TIG and SWFUK have positive sides as well (although I was never really active on TIG myself), but this place is new, and therefore, small enough that everyone seems to be getting to know each other on a personal level.
This place, in such a short time, has made me feel like family, even though I've been dropping off for a few weeks at a time.
Keep your head up, my friend.
Ian

Re: This website...
Hang in there Ian. I just looked up spinal stenosis. It sounds like it's going to be a tough one to fix or at lease make things manageable. Keep us in the loop, and let us know if there is anything we can help with.

Re: This website...
Thanks Clint.
I don't want to hijack the thread with my own issues, but yeah, daily neck/back/shoulder pain due to pressure on the nerves is not fun. If you think that's bad though, look up ankylosing spondilitis. An MRI in three weeks should confirm that one, and that's where it gets scary. I would honestly prefer cancer, as that would at least be relatively short term.

No doubt, James. I am truly saddened to hear that. HORRIBLE condition. In testing for the cause of my issues, they found I had the gene that predisposes me to it. That and the matching symptoms has my specialist leaning towards that. April 22nd. That's the day of the MRI (two weeks - I thought it was three). Then after I see the specialist again and get the results, I get to figure out how to deal with my future, good or bad......

Re: This website...
Nicholas and Ian you guys have definitely come to the right place, as there is barely a healthy member on the team right now
But seriously, I like the fact that this forum is still small enough, that we get to know our members much more personally, compared to the thousands that post daily on the FB groups.
Guys I hope that you find ease to your pain and discomfort real soon
and its really great to see you posting again Ian

I had a little keyhole surgery op on my right knee(Arthroscopy) on Wednesday to hopefully fix a torn cartlige, but when I read what some of the great guys on here are going through, Nicolas and Ian, I really hope future results are positive guys, stay strong, wishing you both the best for the future.

Hey Ian didn't realise things had gotten that bad for you health wise. What a nightmare.
I did notice you were selling up a lot of your collection. I know you've always said you'll be buried with your collection so that must have been a painful decision. Hope things improve mate. Keep me updated.
