Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Those comic packs look great Chris, I agree the Vuuzahn Vong was a brilliant figure, as for darth talon, well yeah she's not a Disney princess that's for sure!
They did quite a few comic packs, and they were good value for money, on the secondary market they all seem to be expensive, I was lucky to win a cammie and fixer one for a good price on ebay a couple of years ago, that's still the only one I own

Got this delightful figure at a toy show last weekend. It's impressive that this was even made since its the better old version of Han & Leia's kid. Sure, it was a fan's choice poll so it became a PR issue.

That's a cool looking figure, so that's from the old cannon, not read any of that stuff, is it any good do you know?

Thrawn Trilogy and New Jedi Order #1: "Vector Prime", are my recommendation, the later is pretty interesting. 15-20 years after ROTJ the entire galaxy is invaded by space orcs that are unaffected by the force.
Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Sounds good mate, will have to seek them out, thanks for the info

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
The circle is now complete!
Got the last one I needed at FanExpo Canada 2018. $40 for a complete Super Return of the Jedi!

Nice set Chris
I had Super Star Wars back in the day, it was a US cartridge so I had to play it through an adapter on my UK Super Nintendo, great memories

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
I'm pretty happy with it. Now to get a Super NT so I can play them properly in HD with a wireless controller.
I know I was commenting on how much I loved the art on the ESB box before, but now that I see them all together, the other two are just cropped versions of the standard posters. Maybe I'm ignorant but I don't recall seeing that ESB image used anywhere else.

I love the gammy guard, I've yet to see them in person over here, hoping to pick one up at a con, it looks a solid figure, the 3 and 3 quarter version is my favourite figure out of the black series line

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Yeah I’ve really pretty much stopped buying these and the ones I do get I’m opening. The last one before this was 4-Lom.
I really like this tbough, might be my favourite black series 6” figure.
I also found this at a comic shop yesterday:

It certainly looks like a solid figure, and the Ephant Mon figure is another of my favourites, great score

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Just wanted to show a couple (very affordable) 1997-ish Kenner/Hasbro prototype pieces I picked up recently, one of which, at the Cincinnati Toy Show.
This first one is a first shot Kyle Katarn from the "Expanded Universe" Line, it came from a Kenner employee who worked there in Cincinnati through the vintage star wars days, right until the office was closed by Hasbro in 2000. Included with the documentation was a copy of the letter that Hasbro sent everyone to let them know that the Cincinnati office was closing.

This second one if a framed collection of sketches from the "Jabba's Dancers" 3-Pack. Technically based on special edition characters, but I thought it was very interesting for the price. It features little white-out spots and modifications that were made to the design that reflect the final toy, as well as 3.75" scaled down versions which were cut & pasted beside the drawing.

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Found the "Archive Series" wave of black series figures a couple days ago. I've sold off most of the black series that I had but I must say, I like having the bounty hunters. Just need to find Dengar, shouldn't be too hard.

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Got this "Korbanth Graflex 2.5" for my birthday. Pretty screen accurate piece that was on sale at the time. I'm gonna try to get a couple upgrade parts at celebration to make it more screen accurate. I've set it up in the ANH style which has 7 hand grips and the "bubble strip".

Re: the89thchris' Modern Collection
Thanks, Ian. I have hardly scratched the surface but I can tell the "saber nerds" are just as bad as us, in their own unique way.
There are at least 3 companies that create these replicas, all with their own ups and downs.

I've seen a few different sellers, the sabre fans get passionate don't they, nothing wrong with a bit of passion
