Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
It was a rainy day last Sunday when I went to the "Mississauga Collectors Expo". There were some wild vintage items for sale so I felt compelled to share some photos.

Here is something really special, some boxed Glasslite Tie Fighters, $1,500 & $1,600 CAD respectively. As most of you probably know, this was some of the last box art designed in the "vintage era":

AND this was a full set of Droids coins including those for all of the unreleased figures. Asking price was around 20k. Sorry I didn't get a better shot, but its all on the SWCA

Here is a nice Canadian SW boxed Tie, surrounded by some less interesting items:

This was my one pickup of the show. I've never had a (real ) lightsaber for my current Luke Jedi, nor had I ever seen a blue saber for sale in person. I'm not overly compelled to find a green one now

Chris, thanks for sharing.
I forgot about that show. It's another great one to go to.

Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
I think half the fun for me is taking the pictures. That Godzilla looking thing for example, I have no idea what that is but it photographs well
I was just shocked to see those droids coins and the Glasslite boxed ships, (that was at the same booth btw) I don’t believe either moved. He was selling some individual unreleased ewoks coins at 1k ea
He said he’d bought them 15 years ago, it’s a shame he didn’t go for the hard copies/first shots of the figures, much better returns on those, I’m sure.

Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
Yup, its weird. That stuff seems far more appealing when it's within arm's reach than on eBay lol that glasslite tie was growing on me, then I realized I could get 2 US ungraded 12backs for that price, which I'd much rather have lol that box art tho.. magnificent. Not sure why they added that Vader pic though.
Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
On Sunday, June 10th, there was another Star Wars themed "Mississauga Collectors EXPO" and I was able to meet up with Clint and a few other local collectors to check it out. Here's a look at what was on offer. At the end you can see Alan Harris doing a signing, he played Bossk and several other costumed background characters across the entire original trilogy.

Glad you enjoy them, Ian. The funny thing for me is seeing stuff that I missed while I was there. Like, in retrospect, that unpunched Canadian 8D8 looks pretty good lol I wonder how much it was.
Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
This event is happening again this weekend and CAS is showing up for their first Canadian appearance. I'll be sure to get some pics.
I'm not sure if I've got any submissions to drop off but at the very least, they will be displaying some prototypes, the likes of which have probably not been seen at a Canadian toy show before.

Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
I'm still debating, if I want to venture into the city for this one.

I thought I'd post this here until I've got time to go through all my other pics. There are a few shots on that post if you flick through.

Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
Here are some pics from the Ontario Collectors Con that took place in Mississauga on January 27th. This event featured the first Canadian appearance of Collector Archive Services!
This show is probably the biggest toy centered show in Ontario, it happens about 3 times a year and is usually slightly focused on a specific fan community. I managed to access a vendor's pass so I got an early look and saw people setting up:
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I tried to get a quick shot of all the vendors that had some vintage Star Wars items out, front and center. There were quite a few items from MOCs to boxed vehicles and playsets.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This vendor had the largest selection of MOCs. He had a Canadian 31-Back Lando that I was pretty interested in, but I couldn't get him to a price I was comfortable with for that item.

I had to share a shot of this lego display. It doesn't do it justice. Once he had it all up and running with the motorized vehicles etc, I probably stood in front of it staring for 10 minutes.

This Canadian Tie Fighter was pretty beautiful. I've got one but I'm missing the instructions.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
This vendor had a reproduction Sears Vaccum-sealed Veers. For a mere $125 you can have a loose AT-AT commander and some random cardboard.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I have been tempted to get one of these Legacy Falcons for a long time. It's gotta be my most desired modern item, its just too big.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here's a look at CASs booth, as usual they brought some stunning pieces in order to demo their acrylic/grading work.

Here is my one pickup for the show, a Canadian Attack Base Playset.

Hope you guys enjoy the pics!

Re: Mississauga (Ontario, Canada) Collectors Expo
It was missing the insert/instructions but I hadn't seen one with a decent box for a while and the price was right so I bit on it.
