Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
I usually don't set out to get anything in particular. But I had a good'ish year.
I got 20 cut bubble mocs & 1 fully sealed moc for $500, just after new years. All the figures were super minty, except Madine.
- a bulk purchase of trading cards.
- a 20 back Canadian Fett card back
- lots of odds & sods
I managed to make it to C8 in Orlando, and had a blast hanging out with Christian, and meeting so many other collectors. Like Javi, Kenneth, Grant, Jez, Richard, Pete, and too many to mention. Lots of them are members here.
But I'm exhausted from work & the current prices are taking the fun out of the hobby for me. So it's been a mixed year, emotionally for me.
Again, I'm not going to set any goals, for my collection in 2018. Except for 1, and that will be to finish my office/man cave, and get my collection out of storage to enjoy.

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
This question doesn't really apply to me as I've only been collecting for just over a year, during most of which I've been a member here.
Next year I should be able to finish the loose figure set, despite the fact that a pop-up R2 is in the mix.
I do like Clint's answer though.

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
my fondest purchase was my loose beater degraded fett my scanlite lite esb light shade pendant a esb suncatcher! and my luke farmboy loose taiwan!
ive had a han hoth focus the past 2 years i got some more this year and finally got a grail of sorts a poch choc legs.
the vintage spark has dwindled a bit more for me again this year again. this is because of the cost has gone up even more and it sucks for the hobby. a loose luke stormtrooper fetching in excess of a £120 regularly and loose r2d2 pop up fetching over £200 is ridiculous! there are bargains out there and thats great there are also more eagle eyes though which is good and bad.
the facebook collecting groups is a disease which im trying to slowly get away from. there are lots of positives for fb groups and lots of negatives i have stepped back and switched off notifications which has helped. In general its the FB platform and its consuming of and killinng off real life human interaction rather than starwars collecting groups.
next year im going to sift through my collection and see what i have and going todo a showcase thread. as for buying im going to take a break from it il probably pick up the odd bit but not actively look.

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
I haven't bought much vintage this year, a few boxed mini rigs and a few figures, and a carry case, still haven't finished my loose run, and with loose prices skyrocketing I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon, I need a Luke stormie and pop up R2 as well as a few others.
Next year I'm going to get more boxed mini rigs and see if I can fill the gaps in my loose collection, I'm happy with what I have so far, and enjoy sitting in my star wars room, as I've mentioned before I collect both modern and vintage and enjoy both, but my first love is vintage

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
i always have goals , my favorite purchase last year was my red armor pbp 4lom that i paid dearly for . unfortunately for me as i only collect figures and have a full kenner run (minus the odd coo stamp here and there) is that everything i really want is super expensive now foreign wise .
so i guess my collecting goals for 2018 is to add any of the following without getting killed at the bank , takara 3po or alt head c3po, pbp luke , dsc or any of the poch variants or ledy weapons i need to complete the figures i have that are incomplete .
this hobby has gootten very expensive but theres lways something to be found on the cheap , hopefully we all find those items

By the end of this year I will have TWO Ledy Emperor's Royal guards
For me that tops my Meccano and PBP Luke Hoths
I enjoyed hanging out at Tantive with some people I regard as good friends
Next year as always I collect what catches my eye that I can afford or justify in my head paying that amount of money
Happy collecting 2018 gentleman

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
I had a pretty quiet year collecting wise and to be honest I wasn't too interested in the buying side of the hobby. Hanging out with Clint and others at C8 was definitely the highlight of the year.
This year I'm hoping to start buying a few Luke oddballs just to mix my collection up a little. Maybe a couple of transparencies would be cool as well.

I've also had a quiet year on the collecting front, but I did pick up some nice Stormie cardbacks for my run.
With regards to 2018 my priorities are to continue looking out for Stormie (and other) cardbacks and hopefully add to my loose Ledy set.

Re: your collecting in 2017 and goals for 2018
Well my main goal for 2018 was to figure out why I couldn’t see anything on Tantive XI, but thanks to Commander Clint and a few helpful lads on SWFUK I finally got it sorted.
On a more serious note my goals for 2017 were to finish my mint loose run minus VCJ and Blue Snag. I honestly thought that would be the end of it but after discovering SWFUK and the VR Podcast things have changed a whole heap.
Now my goals for 2018 are to set up a loose Kenner SW20/21 back run (got my first - a Tusken Raider SW20a at beginning of February); Molded Face Luke Jedi (just won in auction awaiting arrival); more PBP (on a more modest scale than hellhippie, though recently picked up a Caramel Boots Luke Bespin); which really only leaves a MIB Landspeeder (achievable), Blue Snaggletooth (achievable) and a VCJ (probably not).

My collecting goals are very simple now...... Luke Bespin and only Luke Bespin, however I managed to add the last variation that I am currently aware of last week, so now I am working towards, upgrades and odd ball factory error stuff.
Anyone got anything fitting that description???

I have these 2 Luke Bespin variants. Are they worth anything?
