The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
Jez Allinson (co-host of the "Star Wars Vintage Rebellion Podcast") has been running in full Stormtrooper armour in support of the Make a Wish Foundation and raising thousands of dollars for that charity (and even making a Guiness World Record in the act), and in 2018 for his third and final feat as the “Running Stortmtrooper", he will embark on a continuous 100km run to raise funds for Make A Wish and Spread a Smile.
Here onboard the Tantive XI, we want to do everything we can to help him. If you’d like to donate to the cause, read more at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
You can also join the Running Stormtrooper by partaking in a “Virtual Run”. Participants in the virtual events will set a distance goal, pay an entry fee (partial proceeds are donated to Make A Wish / Spread a Smile), and document their progress. Once successful, participants will receive a medal featuring “The Last Stormtrooper Run” logo.
You can sign up for a Virtual Run here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
Guys i don't know what to say. I'm gobsmacked. Thank you.
I'm actually bricking it a bit as i do think that not only will i struggle to finish the 100km run but i'll also struggle to reach my fundraising target this year. Your incredible generosity will help the charities massively, to that i am massively grateful.
Yeah the virtual run is a fun new idea which popped into my head after an instagram chat. 4 different distances, something for everyone. One beautiful (large) medal but 4 different medal ribbons specific to each distance: 1 Mile = Red, 5 miles = Green, Marathon = Blue and 100 Kms = Purple (all lightsaber colours, nice).
You don't have to run each distance in one go. For example you could get a marathon medal after running 5 x 6 mile runs. take your time.
I can't over complement Mark Daniel'd design, what's more the medal measures 8cm across which is the same size as the London marathon medals. Most impressive.
Thanks once again guys. Any questions just ask away.

We at TXI, are just glad to help out. It sounds like a couple of the mod's are going to do the virtual runs as well.
We'll update everyone with more about the auctions as soon as possible.

Re: The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
Alright, softies! I'll get the ball rolling here. I've started practising for my virtual run. I use a treadmill here and there, but this is the first time I've really paid attention to the numbers and it's sad.
I ran two miles with a break in the middle on the treadmill, making a time that just barely qualifies as running. and then I walked for 3 more miles afterwards. Surely someone here actually knows what they're doing and can post something more helpful, right?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
I included the shot of the Canadian uncle Gundy because it's TVR's favourite moc by far, and he represents my fitness level I'll do some more tomorrow.
Today I tried out an app called RunKeeper. Might try a different one tomorrow.

Nice one lads.
It doesn't matter how far you go when you start, it doesn't matter how fast you run either. Whatever you manage to do it's still further and faster than the guy left on the couch/sofa.
It gets easier. You'll get stronger. It's all good.

That's proved to be right so far, just getting out there each day makes it a little easier the next time. Good luck with your training, Jez.
Re: The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
I signed up for all four distances, I'll take my time with it of course. My first medal arrived in the post this week and it looks incredible! Looking forward to getting all four of them, they will become part of my collection.
I urge everyone to get in on this, you will not be disappointed and everyone's contribution helps!
Cheers, Jared.

Re: The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
Great job Andy, I probably picked too advanced of a run lol but it sure has got me to get out more and track my activity.
Not sure what the deadline is, but I got a couple days lined up where I might be able to fit in the attempt.
Bottom line is: some money went to a great cause and there will be more on the way.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], best of luck on your insane 100k Stormtrooper run! I'm sure you can do it, but I'm somehow still going to be amazed that it was even possible.

Re: The Last Stormtrooper Run "RAFFLE"
We have had a last minute change in plans. We are going to have a good old fashioned raffle for the prizes listed on the first page of this thread. With all the proceeds going to Jez's Running Stormtrooper charities.
Each entry will be $10 USD each, and you can buy as many entries as you like. Remember, it is all going to charity.
Just send your payments through PayPal FF to [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].
Now this is important. Only put your forum name in the "Note" section (eg: Commander Clint). "DO NOT" put "raffle" anywhere on the paypal payment.
We will then draw 10 names from a bucket. The first name drawn will be able to pick from the list of prizes first. Then the second name drawn will pick from the list of prizes. And so on, until all 10 prizes are gone. The prizes will then be shipped out, from whom ever donated that prize. We will work out all the details after the draw.
Entries will be taken all week and the draw will be made next Saturday evening May 19th/2018.
Good luck, and May the Force be with You.
Official List of Entries:
the89thchris - 5 entries
Pantzman - 1 entry

To be fair, we didn’t fully understand that you could do the runs in “bits and pieces”, so we just went for the mile as we knew this wouldn’t be any problem at all!Commander Clint wrote:mini99 wrote:My wife and I completed our “run” the other week.

Looking at my distance I walk in a normal day I could have claimed a Marathon one in 6 days!
But so what, the same amount of money goes to charity no matter what distance you do!
