Damn, never realized that before….new insights when rewatching the movies.
Yesterday evening I had the pleasure to watch The Empire Strikes Back while a live orchestra played John William’s score in The Royal Concertgebouw, Amsterdam. It was a blast enjoying the movie with live music. Hearing the Imperial March, Yoda’s theme, Leia’s theme, the Asteroid Field, etc. played with the full power of a complete orchestra.

While rewatching a Star Wars movie, it is always surprising and joyful at the same time to discover small details in the movies which had never occurred to me before. Well last night, it was something quite obvious, but I had just never realized before. I am talking about the Bespin scene when Luke confronts Darth Vader in a light saber duel.
I already knew that Darth Vader had used Han Solo basically as a Guinee pig to test the carbon freeze process. To safeguard that Luke would be safe after capturing and carbon freezing him, so he could be delivered to the emperor alive.
However it was only yesterday that I realized that during the duel, Darth Vader tries to actually carbon freeze Luke after dropping him into the carbon freeze cavity. He used Force power to push the lever of the freezing console. Luckily Luke escapes by using a Force jump out of the cavity.
It is pretty obvious but to me it was the first time I realized it. And I have seen Empire at least 6 times from beginning till end.

Which made me wonder. How about you guys, did you discover something which was new to you while rewatching a Star Wars movie.
Please share, it is fun and maybe we all learn something new!
Cheers
Marco

Marco, that looks like it was fun to watch the movie with a full orchestra.
Just recently, some one of FB posted a close up screen shot of the end of Luke's lightsaber in the Wampa's cave on Hoth. The props people forgot to grind off the words "New York" on the end of the lightsaber.

Hey Marco, I remember watching ESB a few times as a kid but it was not till a few years later when watching the film that I noticed Vader’s attempt at freezing Luke.
For me it’s the shot of the Lando miniature static prop as he’s coming out of the falcon’s roof to get Luke, I learned about that maybe 5 years ago. Once you know it’s there, you can’t help but notice it every time. Lol sorry in advance for pointing it out.

Mate I didn't notice that either! Funny how many times you can watch it and still miss stuff.
I saw ESB at the concertgebouw on Fri night. Amazing huh.

Clint, that is a cool thing!
Can you retrieve the close up of Luke's lightsaber from the FB group? Would love to see it.

Hi Christian, watching the movie, and hearing the live music was awesome.
I hope they will show ROTJ next year in the Concertgebouw. Let's watch together then.

Hey Chris, that info about a Lando minitiature prop is totally new to me. Cool.
I could not resist and looked the scene up.
Indeed it looks like a puppet when Lando emerges from the Millennium Falcon.

You can barely see it. I'm guessing some with a "blueray " or 4K copy found it.
