Return to the Blue Lightsaber
Hi guys, and gals,
This is a follow up on my Blue Lightsaber post. I took some better photos of my blue lightsaber from different angles in better light. What are your thoughts?? It could be a V3 repro? Or could it be real? It is in int condition which is what made me suspicious. My original R2-D2 pop up lightsaber is translucent and has fault lines running through it from age. This blue one feels really sturdy, though does bend a little when flexed. There is a very fine texture to it, not what I would call rough.

Hi pauladambloom,
Due to the high quality of the newer floating repros, It's always difficult to tell just from pics. It might actually be worth intentionally buying a saber that is known to be repro. So that you can then compare it, in hand, to the ones in your collection.
Alternatively The Imperial Gunnery website has some quite good comparison pics of repro vs original sabers [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Re: Return to the Blue Lightsaber
Hi Chris, yes its such a close thing. I think it is probably best that I presume mine is a repro, even without solid evidence. Surely there should be a law that states these repro manufacturers must add a mark that defines theirs as a repro on close inspection. I think Smith Lord Creations should be stopped from making such close replicas.

Yeah I agree with you mate. All repro and 3d printed replicas, whether weapons or parts for playsets and ships. Should all be have an "R" stamp on them.
