Re: Put The "Action" In Action Figure !!!
Thanks Ian
Yeah I'm really enjoying creating these shots. As I'm becoming more familiar with my new camera and its settings, I'm able to get the shots more quickly. It's the setting up the scene and lighting that takes a bit of time. I also purchased Affinity photo software, thanks to Clint's recommendation. It's a lot like the newer version of photoshop, but way cheaper. It gives me a lot more creative choices with colour grading and smoke and lens flare effects.
The Kenobi head sculpt is a 3D custom print from Scoundrels Stock. Which I painted and put on a beater Kenobi figure, that I picked up in a bargain bin, from a toy shop that sold second hand toys.
The Jedi temple and starship corridor backgrounds are created, by using my laptop screen as a background, within the shot. I then placed a piece of slate in front of my laptop, sprayed it with water. And placed the figures on it. By setting the aperture on the camera to f1.8 it creates a shallow depth of field. So that it helps blur the digital background and the real foreground together.

Oh and I picked up this Neca TMNT figure at the Comicon last weekend. He was in a second hand bargain bucket, so picked him up pretty cheap. I then used a grey background and placed him on some sand. I Then blasted the sand with my pump action air plunger to give the shot more movement.

Thanks Clint
yeah i added the watermark, as I created an Instagram account, solely for my toy photography. I thought the watermark would help promote my page, when the pics are seen on peoples feeds.
