I just got back from a local fall fair this evening, that's about 20 min's from my house.

The one exhibitor from Hamilton had a North American Barn Owl & what I think is a Lynx. They were pretty frikkin cool. rockon

I've posted pics of Sharp Shinned Hawks before in this thread but they have always been at a long distance and in other peoples trees . One finally landed in our peach tree that is about 15 feet from our back window so we were finally able to get some decent pics of one up close cheers

This was our bird feeder at lunch time today.

The chipmunk & bluejays scared off about 30 of the little birds. The mourning dove is the only one not scared.

Do they empty the bird feeders like Squirrels do in the UK scratch

I remember having a plastic net bag of nuts hanging from a tree in my garden, a Squirrel bit through the bottom of the net bag causing the nuts to fall on the floor, then took the lot leaving none for the little birds Evil or Very Mad

Andy, They certainly do. But we have a squirrel proof feeder. When a squirrel climbs on the feeder, the weight of them, pulls the outer wire portion down. Closing off the holes. The chippy isn't heavy enough to activate it. But he dosn't make a mess like the squirrels. cheers
