Looking through one of my cupboards today II found this book I bought about 10 years ago It has great artwork from the old pre cert video boxes, some really cool glossy pics, glad I found this Back in the day I've hired many videos because the artwork on the box was awesome only for the actual film to be crap [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

really cool Andy . I have many horror books like this one also although I don't own that one . ive bought 80% of my horror from exactly what you just described . horror movies are funny like that aint they .
I think I own the complete "nasties" list as that was a collecting goal of mine many years ago . great cover art always draws me in . some of the list that they banned ive never made it through as the movies just fn blew .
some though are absolute classics

Bill we are on the same wavelength brother along with a few other gents here It was a goal of mine to watch every film on the DPP nasty list and I've done about 90%, I slowly add them to my DVD collection as and when I can I will finish watching the remaining ones on the list all thou these days it's laughable why some were banned, it was different times then I supposehellhippie wrote:really cool Andy . I just saw The Beast the other day. Holy crap!
More porno than horror.....
The soundtrack was really grating on my nerves though.

Is that the 3D version?
Question. If this is 3D, and there's a scene where the wind does a Marilyn Monroe on Alex, if he's being a true Scotsman, does that point of the film get renamed Free Willy?

I have Charlie's Farm too! As with many others (I have at least a continuous week's worth of horror films) I haven't watched this yet, but it looks like one of the better ones.
Hey, you know what I haven't done in my last couple of replies? Given you a forgotten 80's gem. This one is more thriller than outright horror, but was creepy enough. Martin Sheen in The Believers.
Enjoy!

Re: PSYCHO - The Official Horror Movie Discussion Thread
I have it. As usual, it's on my list of "yet to find time to watch it" movies.
Loved the original though. Even though this didn't start off as a sequel to Cloverfield, I've heard good things about it.
Ian
Ps. What's that? Been a while since I posted an 80's gem? We're talking about grotesque monsters? This is an absolute classic. BASKET CASE

Picked up this blue ray on E-bay for £7 as I really like the John Williams score on this Brian De Palma film

Cool, I've never heard of The Fury. Add another to my list to check out!
Did you post for another 80's gem.
No? That's okay. Been too long since I posted one. How about some more Wes Craven? So well known for his 'big' movies, like Elm Street and Scream, but he had some terrific ones that aren't as well remembered today, such as this (alright, technically it's 1991, but close enough for this 80's icon).

The Fury(1978) is similar to Scanners but not as well known (great film score by John Williams thou)Ian_C wrote:Cool, I've never heard of The Fury. Add another to my list to check out!

Re: PSYCHO - The Official Horror Movie Discussion Thread
This is not acceptable. Almost 2 months in this thread without a post from me? Dammit, I need to smarten up.
Anyone see the new Rob Zombie movie "31" is now available? I'm a huge Zombie fan, and while not all of his movies have been great, most of them are definitely entertaining. This one looks like a LOT of fun, and is being compared stylistically to The Devil's Rejects, which I'd say is his best film. I should be seeing this within the next day or so.
Resurrecting the 80's classic too. Anyone remember this?

Re: PSYCHO - The Official Horror Movie Discussion Thread
I knew it was coming 2-3 years ago, at least, but just found out a few days ago it's been released online. It gets a small theatrical run in a couple of weeks, and then the home video release. He's released a couple of new songs to go with it too, although I don't think it's his best work at all.
I also am not a fan of Halloween 2. I thought his remake was way better than most give it credit for, especially the first half before he escaped, but the sequel was horrible. A few cool scenes, but junk overall.
