Lili Ledy Bib Fortuna in a Baggie Empty Lili Ledy Bib Fortuna in a Baggie

Years ago I purchased a Bib Fortuna in a baggie from a UK collector.

In the picture below you can see a comparison shot with a Kenner figure and a loose Lili Ledy figure.

Left: Kenner figure
Middle: Figure in a plain baggie
Right: Loose Lili Ledy figure.

From the comparison it is quite clear that the figure in the baggie is in fact a Lili Ledy figure.
Compared to his Kenner counterpart, the Ledy Bib Fortuna has:
- a darker skin colour (face and tentacles)
- a body which is cast in a darker greenish blue plastic
- lighter pink eyes and mouth

Also the stick (darker grey compared to Kenner), and the cape (different darker green fabric compared to Kenner) match with a Lili Ledy production.

Here are some detail views of the baggie;

So what puzzles me is how a Lili Ledy Bib Fortuna ended up in a plain baggie.
Is this a genuine vintage style baggie in the first place? Maybe just home made/fake.

Anyone has some more info, thoughts about this figure?
Maybe our resident baggie expert [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

Thank you,
Marco

BTW: Someone (I can’t remember who) suggested me years ago that this figure might have been part of the Woolworths Special Buy 8 packs, such as discussed here. These Woolworths packs are known to contain a lot of overstock figures from different factories. But sofar I haven’t got any evidence that this Lili Ledy figure could also have ended up in such a 8-pack.

That's an interesting question. Hopefully Frank will lend a hand with this baggie issue. Maybe we can make this thread, the official LL discussion thread?

btw. It was either on RS or SWFUK, I was reading about a Paploo found in a baggie with LL marked on the bag. Has anyone else seen an example?

It's possible that may have been me Marco. scratch
About 3 years ago when I was collecting Bib variants I sourced 3 Ledy Bibs in a matter of weeks from eBay UK. They cost me less than £5.00 each. None of them were advertised as Ledy and the sellers were not Star Wars 'dealers'. I found it strange that I should buy that number in the UK from sellers who had no idea what they were. After chatting to a couple of people, the Woolworths multipack seemed the most likely explanation for them being in the UK. I was also shown a picture of a Ledy Klaatu with thin skirt in a plain baggie. The leather belt had become very sticky with much of it stuck to the bag making the belt look more like a fabric version.
Unfortunately I missed out on it, but a UK seller that I bought a Kenner Lando Skiff from (with what turned out to be a Ledy staff) also had what looked like a Ledy Klaatu with a thin skirt. The belt was fabric with stains from the missing leather. Ive not seen any carded MIM Klaatu belts go like this.

There is currently a Ledy Logray in a plain Polythene bag on eBay UK. Wink

I've not seen an example of that one, but I have seen a couple of Leia Boushh's in 'Made In Mexico' baggies.

Marco, Sorry for derailing your Bib baggie question. nanny Hopefully Frank can enlighten us about both baggies.

Here is the same question from the other forums, about the LL bagged Paploo.

Here is the link from RS
