The Island Of Misfit Toys
I have been saving a few figures here and there over the years that most people would consider trash
I like to see either extreme amounts of play wear or some other type of malicious "boyhood damage" - set on fire , burned/melted , severed limbs kid customs etc ....
Basically anything that you might say were Survivors , but just barely
I was browsing on Ebay and came across a couple card backs and figures that certainly meet the criteria
The seller said these were fresh "Barn Discoveries" :

[300][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/300]

[300][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/300]
The figures themselves actually don't appear to have been played with - C-3PO has tight limbs but it looks like parts of his finish may have experienced some slight damage due to moisture and sticking to the package itself .
The Jawa appeared unplayed with as well but , when I started to take the robe off , the hood practically tore all the way off . The thread on the seams is so dry rotted that it pulls apart easier then cotton candy
What's even cooler is this :
[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]
I'm not sure if it is a factory error - basically just a speck of his brown bandolier paint ended up in just the right spot to look like a pupil or if it is a spot of package debris that just ended up there by coincidence
Either way I like it and it reminds me of a certain horror character that you all know I identify with
I have more Misfit Toys that I'll add as time goes by but I am really hoping some of you guys have some abused toys to share with us too

Great idea for a thread, James!
I have some factory made beaters full with cracks and melt marks. Some collectors call them Poch.

I am fortunate enough to still have all my childhood figures, they make up the bulk of my loose collection.
I used to play with Snow Troopers in barbecue ash because it was the closest thing I had to snow in Australia.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

It looks like I tried to turn my fixed limbs 3PO into a removable limbs version.
Still held together with glue but needs a hip replacement.[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

This guy looks like it was a dog's chew toy
What kills me about it is that whoever owned it never threw it away
You would think 99 % of people would have considered it trash by this point , instead it ended up in a lot I picked up at some point on ebay and I now consider it part of my very own "crap collection"

I'm guessing this one is a small factory error ? It looks like the blue was applied a little to heavy or there was a slight amount of overspray

His eyes look weird to me anyway - just seems like there's more blue then usual and barely any white can be seen around the edges

What do you guys think ???
