Cantina_Patron's Stormtrooper Cardback Focus
I decided to collect Stormtrooper cardbacks as it is one of the few characters to be found on nearly all types of cardback. Besides, who doesn't like Stormtroopers? (OK, the Rebel Alliance )
As much as I would like to have focused on a moc collection, cardbacks have the advantage of being far cheaper and they take up a fraction of the space.
I've got a long way to go, but I'm enjoying the chase, and it gives me an added interest.
Hopefully, as it grows this limelight will act as a useful reference for other cardback / moc collectors.

With this issue the Meccano factory used the same cardstock as Palitoy, but packed the figure behind a ROTJ style bubble which is smaller than a Tri-logo bubble and has round, not square corners as evidenced by the damage to the card caused by the bubble being removed. Meccano also released this figure with the 'UFO' style punch hole more typically associated with Meccano Tri-logo cards (see below).

Meccano Tri-logo with the 'UFO' punch hole and a 'Fabrique a Macao' sticker applied over the printed 'Made In Hong Kong' coo. It also had the smaller ROTJ style bubble as opposed to the larger Tri-Logo bubble seen on other European issues.

Re: Cantina_Patron's Stormtrooper Cardback Focus
I've made a small update with the following additions:
Palitoy 41B
Kenner 20B, 21G & 65B. I'm particularly pleased with the ESB 21G as I gather it is quite a rare cardback.

Re: Cantina_Patron's Stormtrooper Cardback Focus
Wow Steve this is a really impressive run of cards
your collection has really come on a long way
In fact it was your stormie cardback collection that inspired me to start collecting Vader cardbacks........ well, that and the fact that I will never be able to afford most Vader MOC's
I will have to start a Vader cardback limelight at some point.
a fantastic collection Steve, congratulations mate

You still need a US Kenner TESB 41B Stormtrooper cardback for your collection.
FYI the factory code is "K"

I certainly do Peter (as well as many others). My Palitoy 41B has the factory code K & with the obvious modifications, I assume that the Palitoy version was adapted from the Kenner card?
BTW, if you ever have any leads on a nice example, feel free to let me know.

Steve, you've raised a good point, which will be answered in the Palitoy TESB 41 Back Counterpart from the U.K. section of my write up.
There is a common factor here - Kader Industrial Company Ltd. made the Stormtrooper figure for both Kenner and Palitoy.
I will PM you as soon as I can when I see the first U.S. Kenner TESB 41B Stormtrooper cardback that shows up for Sale online.

Fantastic cardback collection, Steve!
A lot of love and dedication goes into it.
I see a lot of Spanish stuff and will watch out for a PBP cardback for you.
