Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 1
FINALLY!!!!
It's taken a long time to finally bag one of these bad boys for my Luke focus. Whether it be lack of funds, wrong place wrong time, I just seem to have missed so many. Pleased to finally add one at last and finish my Luke Bespin cardback photo art run

Congrats on the Ledy back, Alex!
At least your doesn't have a red beard! OK, it would have been funny if it did!
And congrats on the artwork run!
I had to look to see if I had the trilogo, (which I do) so now all I need is a Ledy too!
Very cool man! Congrats!

Gents, I love seeing all your new stuff in the past two pages. Lots of nice loose variants too,
Congrats to you all and thanks for sharing.
Alex, congrats picking up a Ledy Luke Bespin cardback! That must have been a tough one to get.
Nice to see all the Luke Bespin artwork in one row.
And I learned something new today. I never realized before that the Trilogo artwork is different from all the others.
Cheers
Marco

Cheers guys
Yes Marco the Tri-Logo is very different. When ever anyone discusses the Tri-Logo alternate art they always fail to mention Luke. Not only is the picture reversed but it's actually completely different. His gun his much higher at shoulder level, the other is right down at his hip. The colour is also much more accurate because cloud city was not blue!!!
The LL card is the exact same picture as the Kenner picture but the colour is again more accurate and the picture itself has been altered. The contrast has been altered and there also appears to be signs of airbrush touch ups, especially on the hair.

In the voice of BobbyBobs... "Now that's a knive!".

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 1
Nothing fancy, but I am finally starting to go for some variants.
I'm starting small and scattered with just good priced, decent shape common ones for now so I can pickup a few at a time and not hurt the wallet.
I've said many times my collection is small, so please don't laugh too hard!
Leia Bespin Family 2 with odd eyes (I would like feedback on her here [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.])
No COO Jawa with smooth cape - complete - also came with a 77A Made in China card (some speculation this figure could have been found on later ROTJ cards, in addition to POTF - now to prove that! )
And a raised bar RL 3PO - complete

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 1
That is a serious knive, Alex!
You can sell the other one now for big $$$ as an orignal Kahn Movie Prop used for the famous Detail Game Vid.
Do you still have a link to that vid?
Congrats on the new variants, Jay.
About the Leia. At first look she has the "Geisha/Meccano/Pale Face" spray mask for the eyes.
However after a closer look, the "moon" on the right eye (from the viewer's point of view) seems to be truncated at the bottom and blurred in addition.
So the common spray mask after all IMO.

Hey Alex -
would you add that link or even just post all your videos in the OT video thread ?
It would be cool to have a easy place to find them here - they always make me laugh and every now and then I just need a little of your antics to make my day

Nice one, Patrick! I need one too!
OK... this was a little nice pickup.
Can you see it?

YUP... Ledy Saber with a Raised Blank Bar Vader and the Tri-Logo.
Sold as a lot and it looks like the the seller doesn't sell SW, just perhaps only his personal stuff. I know it is a long shot that this combination was from the factory.
But I think it is a very nice combo! I saw the saber in his listing and he said all was legit, but I thought perhaps a Kenner re-issue, but it is legit. Letter "G" or "C" on the hilt. (so hard to tell!)
I really wanted the Tri-logo as I am missing it, but the Saber was a bonus. And the blank bar COO. I like it![400]
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
New saber on the bottom with stressed tip
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Also, another neat bit (unless they all are this way), seems to be a short shot left leg. It is shorter and the foot is also smaller.

Very happy over this.
cheers!

Alex: Thanks for posting that link to your video channel. Bookmarked it now.
Agree with James to post the videos in the OT section.
Patrick: Congrats on the light brown painted Tusken Raider.
Another variant to hunt down for me.
Jay: Sweet set of loose Vaders. Great that one came with a Ledy saber.

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 1
Chris, that is a fantastic set of Poch, PBP and Ledy figures.
Have you observed paint differences when comparing your Poch Vader with other figures in your collection?
Other differences?

Re: Your Latest Pickups........ Volume 1
Thanks Marco,
To me this Vader has exactly the same paint apps as all the other family 2 variants, both kenner and PBP. The red paint is more pinkish in colour and is usually quite loosely sprayed over the top of the white paint, leaving some bleeding to occur around the edges of the red paint.
If it wasn't for the poor build quality of this figure, the odd looking head (which will not turn due to too much flashing around the neck peg), plus the massive melt mark on his arse, it would appear to be a regular Kenner Vader.
I will post up some pics soon in the Poch vader library thread
