Re: Unpainted Droids ... Are they Prototypes ???
Got another beater DS Droid so I stripped him and found another multi colored figure to add to this thread ...

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] - I'll send him your way if you want to add him to your growing collection of stripped DS Droids
I also tried to win this one from Ebay but was outbid

Very cool James, it's a shame you missed out on the other one, but at least it's documented here.

Another Death Star Droid
Here's another death star droid. Personally I am entranced by these unpainted droids but I've recently learnt some collectors are aghast at the thought of doing it, even if it is a loose limbed beater that can't stand by itself. Mine has the black limbs but the body is marbled blue on the front with a yellow back. The head is marbled olive.

Re: Unpainted Droids ... Are they Prototypes ???
Great DSD Bertie
I can understand both sides of the argument but I have never stripped a droid that anyone would want to buy as a "collectable figure" . The whole reason Clint and I put together this article was to try and educate uninformed collectors and put a end to people selling them for hundreds of dollars as prototypes .
No matter what area of the hobby there is always differences of opinion - personally I disapprove of grading loose figures but lots of people do it , who am I to tell them how to collect ?
I'm with Bill , if its a beater that no one will buy anyway then I'll do what I want to do with it .
