Thanks David.
Both times we see the Fleet Troopers in action, they don't fair well. Captured in SW & cut to pieces by DV in Rogue One.

Re: Commander Clint's customs
I think it's fitting that my latest creation has come to life today of all days. I've been wanting to make one of these ever since Alex [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] showed it was possible.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
I was able to take a Power Droid apart a few months ago and made a mold of it, in order to cast a few copies.
Then I've gone thru a few different wind up toys that never seemed to work right after I hacked and wacked them to fit inside the Power Droid.
I ordered a small lot of 5 windup toys on the weekend and they arrived last night. So I started cutting it up right away and finished it up this evening.
And finally wallah.
Now to come up with a paint job.

Haha wow I absolutely love this!!
Well done Clint, it works perfectly. I love the big feet on him and the way his body rocks back and forth when he walks. Awesome work mate
A Coca cola branded one would look cool

Re: Commander Clint's customs
Thanks David and Chris.
Here are the 2 paint schemes that I've done on past power droids. A rusty old copper coloured one and a more screen accurate dark grey/gun metal one.
A Coca Cola themed one would look great.
Keep the suggestions coming.

Apparently there is also a black imperial power droid. It might not have made it into the film.

Re: Commander Clint's customs
Thanks James. It took a few tries, in order to get the right windup toy to work with it.
I ordered another 10 of the windup toys last night. I'll likely do a small run of them with a couple different paint apps.
Chris, a black version is possible with very little painting, now that I can tint the resin.

Thanks Andy. I'm supper pleased with how it's working.
I'm going to keep the little wind up toy a secret until I've made a few, so I can buy more if needed.

I'm looking forward to working on this project again in a few weeks. The parts are coming out of the molds, really nice.

Thanks David.
It was the first test of the power droid antenna mold, and the R2 sensorscope mold. I'm really pleased with how those parts came out.
Thanks for dropping off the R2 sensorscope head a couple of weeks ago. It allowed me to cast a sprue of 6 sensorscopes at once.

It's nice to see this project moving forward after years of searching for the right wind up piece that will fit into the power droid.

Re: Commander Clint's customs
Just a quick update on the Walking Power Droid project.
I haven't had a lot of time to work on this lately. But I managed to put together one of the black Power Droids with some test stickers. It works pretty well.
[400][You must be registered and logged in to see this image.][/400]
I also have been testing some "Avery" clear backed stickers. Note to self. Don't rush and handle the stickers until the ink is completely dry.
I need to rework the stickers. But they have promising results.

Re: Commander Clint's customs
I also ordered some resin 3D printed parts from a UK supplier about 8 weeks ago. They just arrived this afternoon. Just trying something new.

Those head sculpts look good, enjoy finishing them up, can't wait to see them, stickers also work well on the power droids, you've certainly been busy
