Sorry to hear about your loss, Ian. We had to put our one dog down just before Christmas last year. Because of some infection or neurological issue as well. I feel for you and your family.

Thanks Andy. I'm not looking forward to next week. The wife and kids will be finished with March (Spring) break, and I'm the one at home with him all day.

This one made me laugh this morning. A new meaning to "snow boots". lol!

My wife took the dogs up to the local park this morning, like she does every morning. We got about 6" (15 cm) of snow this morning and the temperature is hovering around the 0˚ to +1˚ C.

The little white dog already has a couple of jackets. She hates the cold, and will refuse to go for a walk on the really cold days.

The bigger dog loves the snow. He just ate the snow off of his feet. cheeky

It seems good for now. Somehow she got a pretty serious infection without any external injury. She was refusing food for a week or more but shes pretty much back to normal.

But when you have pure breeds and they start getting older they don't usually last quite as long as your stock cat.

The other day I had a rare opportunity to photograph my Red Tail Shark . He is by far the biggest fish in my aquarium - got to be close to 6 inches , but he stays hidden or at least moving so fast that I could never get decent pics before . My wife and I tried to figure out how old he is now and we decided he has to be at least 6 or 7 years old .

He actually looks very black in person but the flash made his color look a lot lighter . Most of the other fish are swordtails and if you look real close you'll see quite a few babies . The swordtails breed so much that I haven't bought any fish in several years What a Face

Red Tail Sharks average between 5 and 6 inches and typically live for 5 to 6 years . He still seems very healthy but has outlived the average life span for these fish . While I was looking this up I discovered that these fish are actually part of the Carp family What a Face

Yes , I think our tank is pretty healthy - I have 2 filters going and lots of live plants . I think the live plants help more then anything What a Face

The fish breed like crazy which is another sign of a healthy tank . The swordtails and Plecos breeding isn't that uncommon but even my Panda Cori Catfish have had babies , which from what I have read , is very uncommon .

Our crazy beast at the cottage in Wasaga Beach. Turns out I don't even need to throw a ball to keep him amused. He is just trying to catch the water.
It was 30˚C + everyday. So it was nice to take the dog to the lake in the evenings after the beach patrol was off duty. Enjoying the summer with his Covid cut. He normally looks like a muppet.
We are out about 30 m (100 ft) or so from shore on a sand bar.

Thanks guys. This was a bit of an accidental discovery. I had him out in the lake for a swim and we splashed a bit of water. The Poodle part of him loves the water & the Australian Sheppard part of him is obsessive.
